Welcome to Dog Sense!
At Dog Sense, our mission is to increase responsible pet ownership within Southern California's pet loving community. We are accomplishing this goal through community outreach events, free seminars, affordable private training, group classes, and socialization activities.
"When trainers and pet parents work together and devote themselves to learning all they can about their furry friends, everything makes Dog Sense."
The Dog Sense Difference
Did you know that 90% of dogs that are relinquished to the shelter by their owners are there for training reasons that are 100% preventable or can be easily fixed with training? At Dog Sense, we feel that when a community has access to affordable training then less dogs will end up in the shelter and many lives will be saved. When a dog is properly trained, it is not a nuisance, it is a pleasure to be around. A trained dog is also less likely to bite, escape from the yard, or fight with other animals.
When owners make the commitment to train their dog, they are showing their friends, family members, and their local community that they are committed to being a responsible pet parent. Owners who seek training for their dogs are more likely to spay or neuter their pet, keep them current on their vaccinations and have them microchipped, which results in less spread of disease, less un-wanted litters entering the shelters, and less stray animals roaming the streets.
By joining the Dog Sense family, you are supporting our goal of ending the euthanasia of un-wanted animals in our shelter systems every year by:
Our Training Methods
We are Positive Reinforcement trainers, which means that we use treats, praise and other rewards to encourage our dogs to continue doing desired behaviors. This keeps training light, engaging and strengthens your bond with your dog! Positive Reinforcement Training is safe, humane, holistic, scientifically proven to work, and fun!
