In addition to learning basic commands, dogs and owners will also enjoy playing fun games and participate in relationship building exercises. Level 3: Canines in the Community Class
This is the third and final class in our obedience training course series and should be taken after Level 1 and Level 2. This class builds on the skills learned in previous classes with even more advanced commands introduced. This class also heavily focuses on preparing dogs for situations that they may encounter in the real-world and teaching them how to handle the unexpected with grace. Dogs will be working intensely on performing reliable cues (reliable meaning the cue is executed the first time the cue is given, every time the cue is given), in the presence of heavy distractions, increased duration and from greater distances. After this class is completed, owners and their dogs will have the opportunity to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test! Dogs who pass this test will receive a title for your pet from the AKC (even mixed breeds can earn this title!) and is the first step for dogs interested in doing therapy work or service dog training.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Test
The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program is an American Kennel Club program to promote responsible dog ownership and to encourage the training of well-mannered dogs. A dog and handler team must take a short behavioral test, and dogs who pass the evaluation earn the Canine Good Citizen certificate and title, which many people represent after the dog's name, abbreviating it as CGC; for example, "Fido, CGC". The evaluation consists of ten objectives. All items must be completed satisfactorily or the team fails. Test items include:
