Types of Training Classes

Dog Training Boot Camp (Best Seller!)
Enjoy our Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 classes combined into one SUPER class with bonus material added. Classes are held in an indoor, temperature controlled facility to help you beat the heat, the rain or the cold, so come and spend 8 sessions with us and turn your dog into one lean, mean, well trained machine! Class includes a 90-minute Owner Orientation, student manual, clicker, and your dog's final exam, which is to be taken following your last training session and will be executed out in a public location. Final exams are scheduled by appointment only. Upon passing the final exam, owners may choose to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test at the same time (for an additional fee).

Level 1: Training Foundations & Leadership Class
This is the first class in our basic obedience training series. Dogs can sign up for this class at any time or age, as long as your dog has had at least their second round of shots. Owners will learn how to establish and fine-tune their leadership skills, and dogs will learn foundation skills that they will build on throughout their journey towards becoming the perfect dog. In addition to learning basic commands, dogs and owners will also enjoy playing fun games and participate in relationship building exercises. Together with your trainer, you and your dog will work towards forming a happy, healthy, well-structured relationship that will last a lifetime! This class is open to all dogs who have received little or no previous training.
Curriculum Includes: Sit, Stay, Lay Down, Take It/Leave It, Drop It, Loose Leash Walking, Come When Called, Potty Training and Crate Training.
Class meets for 1-hour per week for 4 weeks. (*Note: 1st session is NO DOGS)
Cost: 4 sessions for $185 (Includes Owner's Manual and Clicker)
Pre-requisites: All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations, be spayed/neutered (if over 8-months).
Level 2: Life Skills and Etiquette Class
This is the second class in our obedience training course series and should be taken after Level 1: Training Foundations & Leadership. This course builds on the foundation skills previously learned, while more difficult commands are introduced. Distractions, distance, and duration are increased substantially. Dogs will also be taught proper doggy manners to help you and your dog build a stronger relationship based on mutual respect for each other. And as always, fun games and activities are also a big part of the class!
Curriculum Includes: Place, Down/Stay for Guests Entering, Safe Greetings, Handling Exercises, Heel, Stop, Settle, Stand, Wait for Meals, Come and Sit, Wait at Thresholds, Sit at Curbs, Accepting Veterinary Exams, Socializing with Strangers and Close Proximity to Other Dogs.
Course meets for 1-hour per week for 4 weeks.
Cost: 4 sessions for $175
Pre-requisites: Level 1-Training Foundations & Leadership. All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations, be spayed/neutered (if over 8-months).
Level 3: Canines in the Community Class
This is the third and final class in our obedience training course series and should be taken after Level 1 and Level 2. This class builds on the skills learned in previous classes with even more advanced commands introduced. This class also heavily focuses on preparing dogs for situations that they may encounter in the real-world and teaching them how to handle the unexpected with grace. Dogs will be working intensely on performing reliable cues (reliable meaning the cue is executed the first time the cue is given, every time the cue is given), in the presence of heavy distractions, increased duration and from greater distances. After this class is completed, owners and their dogs will have the opportunity to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test! Dogs who pass this test will receive a title for your pet from the AKC (even mixed breeds can earn this title!) and is the first step for dogs interested in doing therapy work or service dog training.
Curriculum Includes: Accepting Grooming/Baths, Accepting Injections and Giving Medications, Back Up, Move, Go to Bed, Jump Up/Down, Distance Sit/Stay and Down/Stay, Executing commands in public, Accepting Nail Trims, Accepting Car Rides, Accepting Rough Handling and Unfamiliar Objects.
Course meets for 1-hour per week for 4 weeks.
Cost: 4 sessions for $175
Pre-requisites: Level 1-Training Foundations & Leadership, and Level 2- Life Skills & Etiquette. All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations, be spayed/neutered (if over 8-months).
Private Sessions: Need a little help with your dog's behavior issues or just want some personal attention? Then a private session might be for you! Located at The Pawlor in Arcadia. All private sessions are by appointment only.
Cost: $95 per session.

Shy Dog Class: this class was created to help shy, fearful and timid dogs come out of their shell and gain the confidence they need to take on the world they live in gracefully and without fear. Dogs will learn how to socialize with strangers and other dogs while playing discovery games and participating in confidence building exercises. Offered in Nov, March, and June, depending on demand. The Pawlor is the brand new, state of the art grooming salon by West Coast Grooming Academy- LA's top rated grooming school. Classes are held behind the salon in the evenings and on weekends. The Pawlor offers affordable, show quality grooming done by students under the watchful guidance and supervision of award winning professional grooming instructors. The Pawlor also offers cage free daycare for dogs in their care. Pet Sense owner Jessica Paws also grooms cats on select feline exclusive grooming days. Jessica Paws is a Certified Feline Master Groomer (CFMG).

Love the Vet Session
Is your dog terrified of going to the vet? Bring your dog in for short, 20-minute socialization sessions where Jessica will spend time with you and your dog playing in exam rooms, taking tasty treats, making friends with the staff, and building nothing but positive experiences at the vet's office. In time, your dog will learn that the vet's office is a great place to be! Call for info and location.
Cost: $25 per session (we recommend at least 3 sessions to make a positive impact)
Love the Groomer Session
Is your dog terrified of going to the grooming salon for their routine bath or getting their nails trimmed? Bring your dog in for short, 20-minute socialization sessions where Jessica will spend time with you and your dog hanging out in the grooming salon, taking tasty treats, making friends with the grooming staff, desensitizing your dog to the dryer, the tub, the clippers and nail trims, and building nothing but positive experiences at the salon. In time, your dog will learn that the grooming salon is a great place to be and future grooming sessions will be a piece of cake for both your dog and the groomer!

AKC Canine Good Citizen Test
The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program is an American Kennel Club program to promote responsible dog ownership and to encourage the training of well-mannered dogs. A dog and handler team must take a short behavioral test, and dogs who pass the evaluation earn the Canine Good Citizen certificate and title, which many people represent after the dog's name, abbreviating it as CGC; for example, "Fido, CGC".
